Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh visited Tuvalu during their official Tour of the South Pacific in 1982. They were carried ashore on local canoes to a welcoming ceremony and attended a Traditional Feast. 30 years later, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to the Island during their Diamond Jubilee Tour on behalf of Her Majesty.
